Feels great. Not too soft. It has a slight crisp feel. The corner points are nice for securing the insert in place. I wanted a second one recently, but they were out of stock for a couple months and I purchased a different cover for another bed. I wish I had just waited because the cover I got is not as good as this one and I think I even paid more for the other one. This is a really good product for the price.
